Electronic Information Panels Project
The new Common panel is now installed on the corner by the Baptist Church and shows details of the history of the Common and the flora around its perimeter. As the unveiling cannot be by a public event we will be trying to provide a video download on our website. However please have a look and tell us what you think. In conjunction with LMPC we will be designing 4 panels for installation in each ward of the council. These will show maps and walks in and between the wards.
Holmer Green has significant locations concerning History, Flora or Fauna.
- HGVS will create Electronic and Physical Panels at these locations.
- Walks will be created that contain these locations based on a variety of Themes.
- These Themes will entertain and inform villagers, young or old, families or groups.
Electronic Basis
- 45 historic locations in Holmer Green become the basis for our project – each location tells a story, which we will make available on line, accessible through a QR scan.
- Anyone with a smartphone will be able to access the material. This will be placed on pages of the HGVS web site, with onward links to voice, video, pictures and any other material such as augmented reality in the future.
- This technique will allow the production, ongoing development and editing of material on the HGVS website ensuring that the information is always up to date.
Physical Panels
- Locations will have a QR scan image positioned on or near it. The QR scan is a 2 inch square image and can be mounted on a small peg in the ground or on a post.
- Some locations would be a full A1 or A2 interpretation panel (for example the Pond, Common, Polidoris, Turners Place). Others could be smaller information panels located on the walls or fences of properties. These would also carry a QR scan image.
The first panel will be installed at the pond.
